Who's behind this?
I'm Alex. I've been keeping betta fish since 2019 — long enough to have made every mistake in the book. I've killed fish through ignorance. I've wasted money on bad advice from chain pet stores. I've spent way too many hours on aquarium forums at 2am trying to figure out why my betta wasn't eating.
This site exists because the internet is full of betta care guides written by people who've never actually kept a betta. You can tell — they recommend half-gallon bowls and say bettas "prefer small spaces." They're wrong, and their advice kills fish.
Every guide on this site comes from firsthand experience. If I recommend a product, I've used it. If I describe a technique, I've done it. If I warn you about something, I've probably learned it the hard way.
What makes this different?
Honesty over polish. I won't pretend every betta I've kept lived to old age. Some died because I made mistakes. I write about those mistakes so you don't repeat them.
Specificity over generality. You won't find "feed your betta a varied diet" here. You'll find exact product names, exact water temperatures, and exactly how many pellets to feed.
No AI-generated fluff. Every word on this site was written by a human who keeps fish. No ChatGPT. No content spinning. Just real experience.
